KDE 4.1 Alpha 1 Released
KDE 4.1 is the first release on the KDE 4.0 code-base that many feel will be ready for general adoption by desktop users, which is currently slated for release in July. Shipping this afternoon, however, is the first alpha release of KDE 4.1. KDE 4.1 is based upon Trolltech's Qt 4.4 technology, will ship with the Akonadi PIM engine, and many bug fixes since the original KDE 4.0 release. KDE 4.1 will be available for not only Linux, but also Windows, Mac OS X, and OpenSolaris. The press release for KDE 4.1 Alpha 1 can be read at KDE.org.
