PHORONIX
Now that I'm done with my various 2014 open-source/Linux recaps (I think so at least!), I decided to take a look at the data from OpenBenchmarking.org over the past year.

OpenBenchmarking.org, which is the public collaborative testing platform to the open-source Phoronix Test Suite benchmarking software, is where any Phoronix Test Suite users can upload their test results, run direct and side-by-side comparisons against existing tests, etc. OpenBenchmarking.org launched back in 2011 as a PTS 3.0 feature, for those out of the loop, and for enterprise users it ties into Phoromatic.

OpenBenchmarking.org in 2014 saw 226,525 open-source benchmark results shared by individuals around the world with all of these results being open and structured so that anyone can reproduce the test results on their own systems using the Phoronix Test Suite, merge comparable results side-by-side, and carryout other analytical functions! This puts the total result count over the past four years of the public OpenBenchmarking.org at 774,288 results (of course, this isn't counting the private results and those with data that never touches the Internet, which is easily in the millions given the enterprise customers and large test farms running our open-source automated testing software).

The most viewed test result files posted to OpenBenchmarking.org in 2014 were:

1404173-KH-USERVER9127 - Ubuntu 14.04 LTS vs. 13.10 vs. 12.04 Linux LTS Server Benchmarks
