Steam changes in recent days indicate that Final Fantasy XIII-2 may very well be on its way to Linux.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 was released for Windows this week while the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 ports were back from 2011~2012. The game is powered by the Crystal Tools engine.

As pointed out by Phoronix readers, SteamDB is showing changes in the Steam database for Final Fantasy XIII-2 with the mention of Linux and an OpenVR Linux. The game isn't yet advertised in the Steam store as being officially supported on Linux.

Will this be the first Final Fantasy title ported to Linux? Hopefully we'll know soon enough.
