QEMU 2.2-rc3 Released, Final Release Pushed Back By Couple Days

QEMU 2.2-rc3 was released today but there's still a few release-critical bugs that will warrant an unscheduled release candidate and thus push back the official QEMU 2.2 version, hopefully only by a few days.

QEMU 2.2 delivers many improvements and new features as outlined in the earlier story on Phoronix.

Since earlier this month there's been weekly release candidates in trying to get QEMU 2.2 out on 3 December. However, with today's release candidate there's known issues about virtio-net leaking CPU mappings, device_del auto-completion in the monitor crashes, and long timeouts in the QEMU main loop can overflow. Developers are hoping these issues and any other pressing items will be fixed by the end of the week for making QEMU 2.2-RC4. The updated hope is to now have the official release out on 5 December.
