Enlightenment's Evas Gains A DRM Display Engine

The Enlightenment Foundation Libraries' Evas canvas library now has a DRM engine for interfacing directly with the Linux kernel's Direct Rendering Manager drivers.

Rather than being tied to drawing on Wayland or X11, the EFL Evas canvas library has received initial support for a DRM engine so it can communicate directly to the DRM graphics drivers on its own VT.

The initial Evas DRM Engine was added this morning by Chris Michael of Samsung. That work was immediately followed up with DRM hardware acceleration support, hardware plane support, vsync/non-vsync support, and other changes to this EFL component.
