Sebastian Kügler laid out plans to get a final version of Plasma Next out this summer.

Kügler issued a brief post to the KDE's mailing list to propose a release schedule for this next generation version of Plasma that goes in step with Qt5 and KDE Frameworks 5. The plan is to do the feature freeze in March followed by the first beta, a second beta in April, the release candidate in May, and then to hopefully ship Plasma Next on the 17th of June.

This official version of Plasma Next will be released as the version Plasma 2014.6 -- should it ultimately ship in June.

The mailing list post can be read here while the release dates are still subject to change.
