KDE Frameworks 5 Tech Preview Released
After last month having a KDE Plasma 2 Technology Preview, today is marked by an official tech preview release of KDE Frameworks 5.
The KDE community has put out their first official tech preview of KDE Frameworks 5, the next-generation KDE component stack devised over the past three years. The final release of KDE Frameworks 5 is still planned for later in H1'2014.
KDE Frameworks 5 consists of 57 different modules and developers are encouraged to try them out and evaluate them prior to their official release. These modules can also be used more broadly by Qt developers without having to pull in all of the KDE libraries like in the past.
Monthly releases of KDE Frameworks 5 are planned prior to a beta in early April and hopefully the final release around the start of June. Those developers wanting more details on KDE Frameworks 5 can check out the dot.kde.org announcement.
