KDE Ships 4.11 Release Candidate

The first release candidate of the KDE 4.11 desktop is now available for widespread testing.

KDE 4.11 is the release where the KWin window manager begins to support Wayland/Weston, KWin can also handle creating an OpenGL 3.1 core context, there's continued use of Qt Quick in the Plasma Workspaces, there's faster Nepomuk indexing, Kontact improvements, and much more. There's many features to KDE 4.11.

More details on Tuesday's KDE 4.11 Release Candidate can be found via the press release at KDE.org. The official release of KDE 4.11 is expected in mid-August.
