PHORONIX
It was nine years ago today, on 5 June 2004, that I founded Phoronix.com as a long expedition to ultimately enrich the Linux hardware experience and to become the leading source for providing Linux hardware reviews. Additionally, it's five years ago today that marks the public release of Phoronix Test Suite 1.0.

In the past nine years there have been more than 8,800 news postings and over 2,300 featured-length articles in covering the open-source and Linux hardware beats with an enthusiast bent. Most of these articles have been written by your's truly but thanks as well to all the other contributors and stakeholders on the Phoronix birthday. Within the Phoronix Forums, there's more than 50,000 members with over 280,000 posts in discussing our coverage.

On the Phoronix Test Suite side, our multi-platform open-source benchmarking software has seen several million installations in the past five years and continues to be widely-used from Linux enthusiasts and gamers to Fortune 500s and government organizations. Our OpenBenchmarking.org platform that launched only with Phoronix Test Suite 3.0, has statistics on more than 2.9 million computer components, more than 395k publicly shared results, and is home to massive amounts of other data.
