KDE 4.9 Plans For Early August Release

The release schedule for KDE SC 4.9 has been made official, which targets an early August release of this next software package compilation for the KDE desktop.

KDE 4.8 was released in late January and development on KDE 4.9, the next major version of this desktop environment, has since begun in full-speed.

The soft feature freeze for KDE 4.9 is set for early May, the soft API freeze later in May, KDE 4.9 Beta 1 in late May, the KDE 4.9 Release Candidate 1 in June, and then KDE SC 4.9 is expected for official release on Wednesday, 1 August.
