Chicago, IL -- August 31, 2010 -- Phoronix Media has announced the immediate release of Phoronix Test Suite 2.8 (codenamed "Torsken") as its latest quarterly update to the automated testing platform used by Phoronix.com, other media publications, and countless organizations.

Version 2.8 of the Phoronix Test Suite introduces more than 70 changes to this open-source software, includes greater support for Microsoft Windows x64 operating systems, a focus on greater OpenCL test capabilities, many updated test profiles, new test installation and external dependency management code, and numerous internal changes made in preparation for Phoronix Test Suite 3.0.
