Cedega 6.1 Beta Released

Back in February we shared that Cedega 6.1 was soon to be in beta and yesterday it finally arrived. The first beta release of Transgaming's Cedega 6.1 (codenamed "Tovik") is now available. Cedega 6.1 ships with support for Shader Model 3.0, new game capabilities, stability improvements, performance enhancements, and more.

In addition to the Shader Model 3.0 support there is also support for mixed mode GL shading language. Some of the other general improvements in Cedega 6.1 Beta include better installer support, improved copy protection support, audio updates, game improvements, an auto-update feature, and the ability to restrict Cedega to using a single processing core. Among the new games supported by Cedega 6.1 are Postal, Team Fortress 2, and Command and Conquer 3.

Transgaming has sent over this Cedega 6.1 Beta and we are in the process of trying it out. We'll likely have an additional article in the near future looking at the Cedega 6.1 Beta performance compared to other mediums. The official release of Cedega 6.1 is expected this summer.
