DESKTOP --
Xfce developers have restored work on their Parole Media Player as the primary media player for this lightweight desktop environment.

It's been over one year since the previous release while Xfce's Parole 0.9 media player shipped today with an optional new "mini mode", new icons, taking care of most GTK deprecated API calls, re-enabling of double buffering with X11/X-Video outputs, and various behavioral improvements.

Those interested in Xfce's media player can learn more about the Parole 0.9 release via this blog post.
