The X.Org Foundation Board of Directors decided at yesterday's bi-weekly board meeting to go ahead with a plan to host XDC2016 in Helsinki, Finland.

Martin Peres, the longtime Nouveau contributor and now Intel Open-Source Technology Center employee based out of Helsinki, was the lone one to submit a proposal for hosting XDC2016. This announcement comes after last month's call for proposals to host XDC2016. This should be a pretty good and well organized event with Martin being one of the more active members; Martin was also the organizer of XDC2014 Bordeaux back when he was in France.

Dates and venue location for XDC2016 Helsinki have yet to be determined.
