The first public beta has been released for the Linux (and OS X) build of Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power.

Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power now has initial Linux support, but there's a long list of known issues at the moment. There are many known rendering problems, launcher problems, gamepad issues, and other items to work through.

Details on today's Linux beta and the known issues can be found via this SteamCommunity.com announcement.

The game developers didn't mention what to expect of the AMD Catalyst Linux support. The SteamOS/Linux system requirements do mention, "Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power runs best with proprietary drivers and may not function correctly with open source drivers."

The game sells on Steam for $21.99 USD. It's described there as, "Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power is a platforming game of action, puzzles and adventure, and the sequel to the award winning Trine and Trine 2. Reunite with the three heroes in an all-new adventure, now for the first time in full 3D!"
