It was just one week ago writing about Steam on Linux having 1,800 native games available and today the 1,900 threshold was crossed! As of writing this article there's been 1,913 native Linux games available.

It's been one wild past week with many new Linux games, albeit most of the 100+ new titles have been indie games. However, some interesting new Linux ports have included the SNOW winter skiing/snowboarding game and CoH2 The Western Front Armies. It was a fast rate the past week with now having the holidays behind us as normally there are just ~100 new Linux game releases/ports per month.

Right now 1,913 Linux games are being listed on Steam while there are 2,913 listed Mac OS X games on Steam and 7,587 listed Windows titles available on this digital distribution service. It will certainly be interesting to see what the rest of the year looks like for Linux gaming with how quickly Vulkan-powered games are released, what happens to SteamOS and Steam Machines throughout the year, what unexpected AAA Linux games get released, and if the Linux desktop manages to become more widely adopted by Steam gamers while right now the listed Steam Linux market-share is about 1%.

Update: As pointed out here, it looks like Valve may have changed their store with regard to how they are reporting the Linux games. Depending upon how you list it, Valve is now including "coming soon" games in some of the sorts.
