For those that haven't jumped fully on the Meson build system bandwagon, the SCons 3.0 software construction utility is now available.

One of the fundamental changes with SCons 3.0.0 is it being the project's first release to support both Python versions earlier than Python 2.7 as well as Python 3.5+. For those not too familiar with the SCons tool, its build configuration files are in fact just Python scripts.

Scons 3.0 also has updated D language scanning support, removed deprecated CVS/Perforce/Bitkeeper/Subversion tools, Windows Store / UWP improvements, basic support for PyPy, Clang/Clang++ tools, nested / namespace tool support, and a variety of fixes.

Scons 3.0 changes are outlined here. More details at Scons.org.
