OpenBSD 6.2 Is Planned For Release Next Week With New Features

Not only is the Ubuntu 17.10 release imminent, but so is that of OpenBSD 6.2.

Theo de Raadt is planning on releasing OpenBSD 6.2 around next weekend as the newest feature release. This update includes a lot on the hardware side including several new Rockchip ARM drivers, several Marvell ARM drivers, a Microsoft Hyper-V HVS storage driver, updated Intel and Realtek network device support, ACPI hibernate support within OpenBSD's NVMe driver, updated Intel DRM against the Linux 4.4 LTS kernel, and much more.

OpenBSD 6.2 also has been baking support for guest VMs to utilize AVX/AVX2 of host CPUs, improved 802.11 wireless, various other networking improvements, AES-NI is now used by the installer if available, a number of security improvements, and a range of other work for this security-minded BSD.
