LINUX GAMING
A month ago we heard the Source-based Postal III game was planned for a Linux release from Vince Desi, the CEO of Running With Scissors. At that point we heard they were planning for a May release of the game, but now it looks like it's been pushed back to being a "summer" release and the state of the Linux client for Postal III is a bit less hopeful.

In an email from Vince in February, which was forwarded to Phoronix, he said: "As of today Yes we are still planning a linux release. We that is RWS are waiting for a final beta from our production team in Moscow. Like you and yours we are anxious and frustrated. I hate saying Shit [I'm] not sure about but I will share with you what I know. It looks like May if all goes well. We are hopeful to reach a distribution deal at GDC and worse case we go [direct download] and will find another team [for] Linux."

We've just been forwarded another email, which we have been able to verify as authentic, from another Phoronix reader. Vince Desi once again talks about the game and Linux.
Im hoping it will be released this summer on Windows, and then on Steam, and yes we have in the past published Linux versions, we want to do the same for PIII, but have no plans immediatley

Vince Desi

This message sounds less optimistic than last month's email, but hopefully some more Phoronix readers will ask him in April to see what the state is then.
