Wine 1.2 was supposed to be released last month as the first major stable release of Wine in two years, but that didn't happen as the weekly release candidates kept coming due to important bugs not being resolved. While a seventh release candidate of Wine 1.2 was tagged today, this may very well be the last release candidate, which means the final release should be just around the corner.

Wine 1.2-RC7 just carries more bug-fixes and translation updates -- like all previous Wine 1.2 release candidates -- but this time around their blocker bug list is about empty (though some bugs have been postponed for Wine 1.4 or later).

"Barring any last minute problems, this should be the last release candidate before the final 1.2. Please give it a good testing." The Wine 1.2-RC7 release announcement with fixed bug list can be found at WineHQ.org.
