Emil Velikov has kicked off the new release by announcing the third release candidate to the upcoming Mesa 17.0.

He's hoping to see Mesa 17.0.0 officially released by the end of the week. There still are a few blocker bugs open, but he's planning to release v17.0.0 regardless of whether those bugs get addressed in a timely manner or not.

Mesa 17.0-RC3 changes include various Automake build system updates, a number of RADV fixes, several Intel i965 driver fixes, a few ANV Intel Vulkan driver corrections, some Etnaviv Gallium3D updates for this new mainline driver, DDIV opcode support in TGSI, and a range of other smaller work.

The complete listing of Mesa 17.0-RC3 changes can be found via the mailing list.

Mesa 17.0 is going to be one of the biggest releases ever for the project. If you are unfamiliar with the changes see The Big Changes, Improvements Of Mesa 17.0 to get a grasp for this new release.
