WebKitGTK+ 2.3.90 Has Initial WebKit2 Touch Support

GNOME's version of the WebKit rendering engine, WebKitGTK+, now has out a new development version for the GNOME 3.12 beta release. There's also many other new GNOME packages for the upcoming 3.12 beta release.

WebKitGTK+ 2.3.90 is the new release that was issued on Monday. This new update has initial touch support to WebKit2. Additionallym there's a new WebKitWebView API for sharing the same web process (after the earlier development release had support for multiple web processes), and several bug-fixes. The WebKitGTK+ changes are mentioned within this posting.

The GNOME 3.12.0 Beta release is planned for tomorrow, 19 February, and as a result there have also been many other new packages submitted. Some of the other work to find in this GNOME 3.12 beta release includes a GNOME Online Accounts update that enables Pocket by default, Cheese with its various changes, a more responsive UI for GNOME Logs, performance improvements to the System Monitor, and many other changes.
