Arch-Based Manjaro 0.8.8-RC1 Has A New Installer

Manjaro Linux 0.8.8-RC1 is now available and it features package management and installation improvements.

Manjaro continues to ride off Arch Linux and with this first public release candidate of Manjaro 0.8.8 there is version 0.9 of the Pamac graphical package manager on Xfce, version 0.3 of Octopi Qt-based package managemenr on Openbox, and Thus as the project's new installer. The new installer is GUI-driven and aims to be quite simple, but hasn't yet been tested at Phoronix for its ease of use.

Manjaro 0.8.8 is based on the Linux 3.10 LTS kernel, Xfce 4.10 with Xfce 4.11 application back-ports, Openbox 3.5.2, Catalyst 13.4 / NVIDIA 325.15 graphics drivers, and LibreOffice 4.1.2. More details on Manjaro 0.8.8 Release Candidate 1 can be found at Manjaro.org.
