While NVIDIA hasn't yet released any EGL support for their binary desktop Linux graphics driver to complement GLX, we know they are working on it going back to last year's XDC. At this year's XDC event, there was a brief NVIDIA EGL presentation.

James Jones had a brief presentation going over EGL Device Enumeration. It's not something of interest to most end-users in details, so if it interests you see the PDF slides or the video that's embedded below. It's just a good sign that NVIDIA is still talking up EGL. The EGL support is ideally needed for NVIDIA binary driver support by Wayland and Mir.
