When it comes to open-source multimedia home theater programs, stealing the show has been XBMC, but the longstanding MythTV project is still around. As a sign of life, MythTV 0.27 was released today as the newest feature-release for this widely-used HTPC / PVR software.

MythTV 0.27 brings with the version bump support for streaming music stations from MythMusic, support for AirPlay and AirTunes, improved Interactive TV support, an improved recording scheduling interface, a notification center, and other major changes.

The MythTV 0.27 release was announced at MythTV.org but a more interesting look at the new features and major changes for this open-source personal video recording software can be found from the release notes in their Wiki.
