UBUNTU
While Canonical no longer does a beta release of Ubuntu itself, many of the Ubuntu derivatives are doing their first 13.04 beta today.

Released today as the 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" Beta 1 are images for Edubuntu, Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu Kylin, Ubuntu Cloud, Ubuntu Studio, and Xubuntu. Developers for Ubuntu on the desktop and server just prefer you use their daily ISOs and do testing whenever rather than investing time in an official beta release.

Details on Raring Ringtail Beta 1 and the individual announcements for the different flavors of Ubuntu can be found from the ubuntu-devel-announce mailing list.
