AMD has released a beta proprietary Linux driver for Catalyst 12.9.

While not yet stable, the Catalyst 12.9 beta was uploaded yesterday evening to this AMD.com page.

No official change-log / release notes have yet to be published, but if my memory serves me there isn't anything too exciting out of this release stream aside from likely finishing up support for yet-to-be-launched hardware.

The current stable Catalyst Linux driver meanwhile is version 12.8.
