WAYLAND --
Libinput continues advancing greatly primarily for Wayland and X11 systems as shown by the latest libinput 0.10 release while more surely is on the way.

Libinput 0.10 presents ABI compatibility with libinput 0.9 while adding fixes to this input handling library. The details are shared via the mailing list announcement.

Peter Hutterer, the lead maintainer of libinput and Red Hat employee, meanwhile posted tonight a new blog post about new work to libinput for providing device group support to this library. For those vested in Libinput, the new post is surely worth checking out.
