The latest Linux-libre kernel is now available for those wanting a fully de-blobbed Linux kernel that doesn't support drivers depending upon proprietary firmware/microcode or other non-free code.

Alexandre Oliva announced the GNU Linux-libre 4.4-gnu kernel a short time ago, derived from last night's release of the Linux 4.4 kernel.

While in some past Linux-libre release announcements they have been vocal about new drivers that are less than friendly towards fully-free systems, this time around Oliva noted, "There weren't any notable deblobbing changes for this release, just some code movement and a handful of new blob-requesting drivers: qed, fdp, nfcmrvl, rtl8xxxu, and rohm_bu21023."
