Fedora Is Looking For A Diversity Advisor
While there's the OPW (now known as Outreachy) and other initiatives to try to encourage women and other less represented groups to participate in open-source communities, the Fedora Project is attempting to take things a step further by pursuing a Diversity Advisor.
According to the announcement, "The Fedora Diversity Advisor will lead initiatives to assess and promote equality and inclusion within the Fedora contributor and user communities, and will develop project strategy on diversity issues. The Diversity Advisor will also be the point of contact for Fedora’s participation in third-party outreach programs and events."
This is currently an unpaid position. Aside from pursuing the perfect candidate for the position, the Fedora Council is looking for feedback from Fedora users/developers about reasons why diversity is importanty for Fedora, specific minority groups or issues to target by the advisor, and any other comments or further insight.
