The DragonFlyBSD project, namely Fran├žois Tigeot, is continuing to do a good job at keeping their i915 DRM kernel graphics driver close behind the upstream Intel Linux DRM graphics driver. With the latest patches that have landed in the DragonFlyBSD kernel, their i915 driver is up to the Linux 4.4 state.

With syncing their driver code on DragonFlyBSD to the state of the Linux 4.4 kernel, there are Broxton and Skylake support improvements, Cherryview fixes, atomic mode-setting work, PSR (Panel Self Refresh) and FBC (Frame Buffer Compression) improvements, and various other enhancements.
