DisplayPort 1.4 Specification Officially Published

VESA has published the DisplayPort 1.4 standard version today.

DisplayPort 1.4 features Display Stream Compression 1.2, Forward Error Correction support, enhanced display resolution, and greater audio transport capabilities.

DisplayPort 1.4 paired with the DSC 1.2 compression support can support High Dynamic Range and 8K video playback across DisplayPort and USB-C connections -- including 8Kp60Hz HDR deep color and 4Kp120Hz HDR deep color. The new audio capabilities include support for up to 32 audio channels, a 1536 kHz sample rate, and inclusion of all known audio formats.
