The First Ubuntu Phone Officially Launches
The Aquaris E4.5 from Spanish phone maker BQ is the first smartphone shipping with Ubuntu Phone/Touch. The phone will be available in "the coming days" and has operators throughout Europe.
This Ubuntu phone will be available to Europeans via ordering at BQ.com over a number of flash sales in the weeks ahead. This Ubuntu phone is priced at 169.90 Euros.
This sub 200 EUR phone features 8GB of storage, 4.5-inch display, five megapixel front camera, eight megapixel rear camera, 1GB of RAM, and is powered by a MediaTek quad-core Cortex-A7 SoC. The phone hardware isn't at all exciting or special but at least the Ubuntu phone is being launched at a decent price. There's no word yet when the first Ubuntu Phone will be available in the US.
