The Windows WSL performance was competitive on Ubuntu and openSUSE for the AOBench ambient occlusion renderer, while VirtualBox was much slower. The highly-tuned Clear Linux out-of-the-box was delivering significantly faster performance for this benchmark.

With the LAME MP3 encoding benchmark there isn't a whole lot difference between the different platforms except for when testing Clear Linux with its much faster out-of-the-box performance.

WSL was running faster than Docker and VirtualBox for FFmpeg video encoding.
