But when moving to the CPU-focused workloads, we see the Windows 10 WSL continuing to offer performance on-par with the bare metal Ubuntu 18.04 installation.

In some workloads WSL still takes a noticeable hit, but for the most part the non-I/O performance of Windows 10 WSL continues to be very competitive.

The HTTP performance with the Go benchmark shows WSL running slower here.

Some of the other Golang benchmarks also show some slowdowns.

The Java Gradle build test was also slower on WSL due to the I/O overhead.
