Of the tested 20 AMD GPUs on Linux 3.17 + Mesa 10.3, the only graphics cards not averaging above 60 frames per second at 1920 x 1080 were the Radeon HD 5450 and HD 6450 graphics cards. The fastest graphics card tested was the Radeon R9 290, which finally is working with the newest driver code.

At 2560 x 1600, several of the older Radeon GPUs and mid-range modern GPUs were dropping below the 60 FPS average. The Hawaii R9 290 GPU was 15% faster than the next fastest GPU (the HD 7950). As explained with the other open-source AMD Hawaii driver testing this week, for some games though the re-clocking breaks for the R9 290 at this point with Linux 3.17.
