While C-Ray improved with the newer compiler, the Smallpt path tracing benchmark regressed on the newer open-source operating system.

The rest of the test results comparing Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS to Ubuntu 12.10 from the Intel Core i5 laptop were flat. Stay tuned for the more extensive results to be published on Phoronix of Ubuntu 12.10 following its official debut.
