Apache is noticeably faster with Ubuntu 12.04, but for NGINX there is not much difference. Overall though from the many open-source Linux benchmarks conducted to provide these Ubuntu 12.04 KVM virtualization results against Ubuntu's historical virtualization performance, KVM has largely been stable. For this quad-core AMD Opteron system in most of the tests there hasn't been large changes in performance from release-to-release.

As far as other Ubuntu 12.04 LTS benchmarks go, there are extensive power consumption results and Ubuntu 12.04 boot performance results already available along with the Intel vs. AMD KVM/Xen/VirtualBox virtualization showdown, Ubuntu 12.04 file-system testing, RHEL 6.2 vs. Ubuntu 12.04, 32-bit vs. 64-bit benchmarks, and early Mac OS X 10.8 comparison numbers. More benchmarks are forthcoming, including a closer look at the interesting Ubuntu 12.04 ARMv7 performance.
