IBM ThinkPad R52 - Intel Pentium M "Dothan"
Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS: 34 seconds
Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS: 27 seconds
Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS: 22.33 seconds
Ubuntu 10.10: 31.63 seconds
Ubuntu 11.04: 29.71 seconds
Ubuntu 11.10: 33.87 seconds
Ubuntu 12.04: 32.39 seconds

With a time of 32 seconds, the Pentium M notebook was just ahead of the speed where it was booting in Ubuntu 11.10, but far behind where it was in Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS with a time of 22 seconds or even the 27-second boot speed of Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS Hardy Heron. Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS on this oldest notebook tested had booted in 34 seconds. The maximum disk throughput of the tested Ubuntu Linux releases on the Intel notebook was with Ubuntu 11.04 where it had a speed of 50MB/s compared to 38MB/s on Ubuntu 12.04.
