Xonotic with low image quality settings showed the NVIDIA Linux experience taking the lead over Windows 8.1 with its newest NVIDIA WHQL driver. The GeForce GTX 980 was 4% faster with the GTX 980 and roughly the same lead with the GTX 970.

When increasing to high image quality settings, the lead remained with the NVIDIA Linux setup.

At ultra image quality settings, the NVIDIA Linux driver remained a few frames faster...

Finally, when maxing out this cross-platform, open-source game with its ultimate image quality settings, the NVIDIA Linux performance remained superior to that of Windows 8.1.
