Ubuntu 18.10 Performance Is Looking Up, But Clear Linux Still Leads In Many Tests
Clear Linux continues to do well with the C-Ray multi-threaded ray-tracer but the new Ubuntu 18.10 is catching up a great deal on a number of the systems.
Clear Linux had a very narrow victory with the FLAC audio encode performance.
Clear Linux meanwhile produced much faster LAME MP3 encode binaries than Ubuntu 18.04/18.10 on all seven systems.
The R language benchmarks were much faster still on Clear Linux with Ubuntu 18.10 actually regressing the performance.
