With the Java-based Bork file encrypter, the time to encrypt a single file was longer with eCryptfs than the LUKS encryption.
PostMark these days is mostly limited by fsync performance but including this test as it does show much higher overhead with eCryptfs than using the full-disk encryption.
Full-disk encryption performance was nearly spot on with the performance when running without disk encryption, unlike the extra time needed for the benchmark with just the home directory encryption.
But with full disk encryption comes the greater CPU overhead.
