Intel Atom C3950 + Tyan Tempest S3227
In highly threaded workloads, the Atom C3950 could even come out ahead of the four other tested Xeon systems. I didn't carry out any performance-per-Watt comparisons due to the varying motherboard components and other system components (e.g. onboard graphics) of these systems so it wouldn't be entirely comparable.
Needless to say, the Atom C3950 with its sixteen cores and a TDP of 24 Watts does offer a lot of performance potential compared to Atom memories from years ago.
The lack of AVX did hurt the Atom C3950 in select workloads.
But in other tests, the Atom C3950 on the Tyan S3227 Tempest motherboard was a very competent performer.
