For workloads like XZ compression and FLAC audio encoding there wasn't much of a difference between Windows and Linux on either of these 2020 laptops.

LAME MP3 encoding ended up being faster on Ubuntu 20.10 over Windows.

The libjpeg-turbo library's JPEG decompression test was slightly faster on Ubuntu for both laptops.

The Basis GPU texture codec compression test depended upon the texture encode settings with the workload for which platform was faster, but in the demanding configurations Ubuntu was much faster on each notebook.
