Unigine's benchmarks are the most stressful OpenGL tests at this time for Linux. With Tropics, the Radeon HD 5830 at 2560 x 1600 was 4.38x faster than the GeForce GTX 460 and 21% over the Radeon HD 5770.

Unigine Heaven at 1920 x 1080 is below 30 FPS for the Radeon HD 5830 (and even the Radeon HD 6870) but this is an incredibly stressful test and there are no native Linux games at this point that are this demanding on the GPU. Unigine's soon-to-be-released OilRush game is not quite demanding as the Heaven test either. The Radeon HD 5830 still held its ground though in being faster than the Radeon HD 5770 and much faster than the GeForce GTX 460.

At 2560 x 1600 in Heaven, the Radeon HD 5830 just pushed out 16 FPS on average but its performance relative to the other graphics cards was the same.
