With the rather CPU limited BioShock Infinite Linux game port by today's standards, at 1440p the Core i7 8700K delivered about 30% better performance while using the same Radeon RX Vega 64 graphics card as the Ryzen 7 2700X.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided also sided with the Core i7 8700K for delivering the best performance, but when at 1440p with high quality settings is where the results became quite close with this game being very GPU demanding.

With the DiRT Rally Linux port meanwhile the Core i7 8700K with its higher boost clock frequency remained much faster than the latest Ryzen 7 CPU from AMD.

Dota 2 at 1440p with Vulkan was about 18% faster with the Core i7 8700K than with the Ryzen 7 2700X, but at least the gap was narrower compared to other titles.

Or obviously at 4K where the GPU is being really pushed, the performance was roughly the same across these tested higher-end AMD/Intel CPUs.
