Under sysbench, the 3700X is a 5% improvement over the 2700X. The Ryzen 9 3900X matches the Threadripper 2920X performance in this synthetic benchmark, which is a great deal faster than the Core i9 9900K.

Another surprising area of improvement with Zen 2 is how much better the AMD CPUs are now at running Intel's Math Kernel Library DNN deep learning tests... With these new AMD CPUs, they can compete with current-generation Intel processors rather than being a great deal behind.

In multi-threaded benchmarks, the Ryzen 3700X/3900X easily competed against Intel's Core i9 9900K.
