When running the F1 2017 Vulkan-powered racing game at 1080p with low quality settings as to not be GPU dependent, the Core i7 8700K processor was still delivering the best performance as expected, with this article just adding the new non-X CPU models. Due to the lower clock speeds of the 2600/2700, the performance comes in line with expectations relative to the other CPUs.

The power draw is obviously much lower with the Ryzen 5 2600 and Ryzen 7 2700 than with the higher-clocked X models.

The Ryzen CPUs lead over the Intel i7-8700K in performance-per-Watt for this configuration.

The Core i7 8700K also led in gaming performance when running the Tesseract game that is CPU bound at 1080p.

While running Xonotic with low quality settings the Core i7 8700K was in line with the Ryzen 7 2700X while the Ryzen 5 2600 and Ryzen 7 2700 were not far behind.

The Ryzen CPU temperatures with Xonotic were warmer than the i7-8700K with an Arctic Freezer i11 heatsink.
