For Steam Play games included, the Radeon RX 6800 was especially seeing better uplift on the newest Mesa code. More benchmark results and details via this OpenBenchmarking.org result file. We were impressed with the open-source Linux performance out of the Radeon RX 6800 series on launch-day and now already thanks to the open-source driver activity hitting Mesa 21.0-devel, the performance is already becoming even more competitive with NVIDIA. Granted, there still is the timing element that it's too bad this work landed at the very last minute rather than well before launch where it would provide time to get the support integrated into desktop Linux distributions, but at least the trajectory is improving rather nicely in recent generations of AMD Radeon graphics on Linux.
