With the older BioShock Infinite Linux game port that relies on OpenGL, all of the Mesa configurations with RadeonSI far outpace the Radeon Software 20.10 driver with its proprietary OpenGL 4.6 driver. With Vega and Navi there are also nice performance improvements out of both Linux 5.7 and Mesa 20.1-devel. For the mature Polaris GPU (RX 590), the newer Mesa and kernel was not of any help.

The open-source ET: Legacy OpenGL game was also much faster on Mesa over AMD's proprietary OpenGL driver. The RX 590 performance regressed on Mesa 20.1-devel while the newer hardware saw boosts out of using the newer Linux kernel version.

For the F1 2017 racing game on Vulkan, the biggest boost to the performance was found with enabling ACO. The Radeon Software 20.10 driver was crashing with this game.
